Paragliding! July 2014

I found a Groupon for paragliding for under $!50 and decided on a whim to buy one.. and then signed up to go a few weeks later! I drove out to Tiger Mountain in Issequah, Washington where they launch from, and actually had a nice hike up to Poo Poo Point, which had some great views of Mt. Rainier, before the trail led to the other side of the mountain and the paragliding launching point. It was really cool seeing all the people launching, and when I finally got to do it, it was amazing!!

Not as scary as you would think.. because you do not have to do some running leap of faith off the mountain :) People help get your parachute ready, and you wait for the wind to basically lift you up. I am SO glad I did it and recommend it to everyone! It felt amazing in my little "seat" floating around looking at all the amazing sights. Doing it in a place as gorgeous as Washington is also recommended. ;)

On the drive across I-90 to get to Issequah... love seeing this Mountain!!

From my hike up Tiger Mountain...

Made it to the other side of the mountain where all the paragliders take off from...

The view from where all the Paragliders take off!

One of the professionals as he was about to launch!

Where they take off from!

Some pics of me in the air! It was soooo amazing being up there.

This isn't me taking off.. but someone I was watching while I was waiting for my turn...

Skagit Valley Tulip Festival!!

April is probably not on many people's radar for visiting Seattle, but if you do make it here in Mid-April through the first week or so of May, you are LUCKY, because the Tulip Festival is one of the most Gorgeous things I have ever seen. Check out the website here: http://www.tulipfestival.org/

Located in Mt. Vernon, there are fields and fields of Tulip farms at their peak this time of year and are a MUST SEE. The crowds can be BRUTAL so you have to plan accordingly. I went early on Easter Sunday hoping to avoid some crowds and I got very lucky. I started at RoozenGaarde gardens, and then spread out to some of their Tulip fields. I am posting a million pics because I simply can't choose between them! There is a video of the Tulip fields at the verrrrryy bottom :)

Go Huskies! Purple and Gold!!!

I loved these ones that looked like they were on fire!!

Leaving the gardens and going across the street to the first of the Tulip fields!

The variety of tulips blew my mind!! These multi colored ones were GORGEOUS and some of my favorites.

And the Video!

This was absolutely one of the best days so far this year.. so blessed to live in such a gorgeous place!
